Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Every piece is handcrafted by me in my workshop in South Wales.
Some designs are fabricated entirely by hand, while others are cast from my original wax carvings before being hand-finished, polished and, where applicable, set with natural stones. Every piece is made in small batches with care and attention to detail.

I primarily work with 925 silver. This a high-quality metal made of 92,5% pure silver mixed with a small amount of other metal (usually copper), which makes it stronger and more durable.
Occasionally, other materials such as brass may be used in selected designs. Brass is a warm, golden-toned metal made from a mix of copper and zinc. It has a rich, vintage feel and develops a natural patina over time, adding character to your piece. If a different material is used, this will be clearly stated in the product description.
Currently, there are no gold vermeil or gold plated pieces on my website, but if you are looking for a gold coloured piece, please get in touch!

ZLVR pieces are made to be worn daily and are water safe, but it can develop a natural patina over time. Silver tends to oxidise and darken when not worn. Brass develops a warm, antique-like patina.
You can either embrace these changes, or restore the original shine using a polishing cloth.
Tarnish is entirely normal and reversible. With proper care, your jewellery can last a lifetime. For more information on how to care for your jewellery, take a look at the care guide.
-
Every piece is individually handcrafted, making each one unique.
If your jewellery features natural stones, sea glass or shell, slight variations in colour, pattern and texture are to be expected. These natural differences are part of what makes every piece one of a kind.

In many cases, yes.
One of the values behind ZLVR Studio is creating jewellery that is made by hand, worn for life. Rather than replacing a much-loved piece, I believe in repairing and restoring it wherever possible.
If your jewellery becomes damaged or simply needs some care after years of wear, please get in touch. I'll always do my best to repair or refresh your piece, helping it stay with you for many years to come.
-
Yes! I use minimal, recyclable, or reusable materials in all of my packaging.
Every piece comes in a jewellery pouche, handmade of broken/ripped jeans from a charity shop, cut and sown and branded with a branding iron.
Post boxes are made from recycled materials and can be re-purposed or recycled at home with your cardboard waste.
